Hello,

I've set up the app according to instructions, however when I try to get the list of groups in Thunderbird I get nothing. Empty list no errors. Here is the log:

What am I doing wrong? Prefetch was successful and I can see the DONE:( 2640 newsgroups) in the app. But not in thunderbird.

You are doing an "update" and not a Refresh!

It seems that there are no new groups since Today... (2010-06-17 19:39:47)

You should do an "refresh"!

The button I'm clicking is marked red on the screenshot. It reads "Refresh". Could you please navigate me through Thunderbird UI to the correct button.

Much appreciated,

I do not know why thunderbird is using the wrong command... maybe you should first press "Prefetch" (even if the list is displayed!) and then start Thunderbird and press "Refresh"... if TB does not get the groups, you should remove these server and add the server from scratch...

I did both, pressing Prefetch in the app and then Refresh in Thunderbird and adding the server account from scratch. Nothing worked.

Could you please let me know if you are planning to work on compatibility with Thunderbird? I can assure you that whatever command it sends, it DOES work with a real NNTP server.

Thank you for all your help so far.

Andrew.

You are the first, that have problem with TB! Many people are using TB... so

Are you sure that you have enabled "Socials" and "Answers" Forums in den Advanced settings?

What version of TB are you using?

I am having the same problem with Forte Agent 5.0. I prefetch with the bridge and get all the groups, but trying to download the list of groups into Agent by the usual method gives me nothing. Groups already in Agent Favorites work fine, so the bridge seems to be working OK. I used host name 127.0.0.1 in the Agent set up. I'm not sure I understand how to enable "Socials" and "Answers" Forums in Advanced settings. Could you explain that?

I notice that there is another post where someone is having a similar problem with OE6.

Ignore the Advanced settings question> I found them and both are set to True. I still have no list of newsgroups. I'd really like to get this to work because the MS Forums Bridge works but is buggy and the MS Answers Bridge doesn'r work at all on my system.

This is described in details here: http://communitybridge.codeplex.com/documentation

I don't see anyhting there except how to access the Advanced Settings. Nothing bout what they do. I did find what I needed there and it's set correctly.

Did you ever get TB to get the groups list?

It's second bold title on the page "Enabling the NNTP web-service access at the microsoft forums".

No, no luck with TB for me so far.

I installed TB 3.1 (used to have 3.0.5) and it worked. To be honest, it was all my silliness, if you look on the screen shot I linked, I was refreshing  the "New Groups" tab where as I should have been looking at "Current Group" tab. Sincere apologies to the author, cause as a software developer you can't easily imagine *all* the ways people can be silly.
